HIV Prevention and Viral Load Suppression Project (Western Division, Tororo Municipality)

A youth-centered initiative designed to improve treatment literacy, increase adherence, and reduce new HIV infections among children, adolescents, and young people.

What the project focuses on:

  • Community HIV testing and outreach.
  • Improving linkage to care.
  • Treatment literacy and adherence counselling.
  • Strengthening VHT and peer educator networks.
  • Targeted services for key populations.

  • Community outreaches testing hundreds of adolescents and young people.
  • Improved linkage to care for HIV+ clients.
  • Home visits and IAC sessions improving viral suppression.
  • Increased uptake of HIV prevention services (index testing, PrEP referrals).
  • Community dialogues with leaders to reduce stigma.
  • Support toward achieving Uganda’s 95-95-95 targets.
